Aug 19, 2024

Unum continues its momentum of technology releases by being the first carrier to launch EOI decision return with Employee Navigator — an enhancement to their Embedded EOI capability as part of their Unum Broker Connect for Employee Navigator program. This new feature makes it easier for plan administrators to quickly and accurately capture necessary deduction information or to transfer data to an integrated payroll platform.

Unum now returns EOI decisions – including pending applications – within Employee Navigator. These can be accessed from the “Review pending EOI” link on your Employee Navigator dashboard. For clients with payroll services integrated with Employee Navigator, deductions will automatically be updated to align with EOI-based coverage decisions.

Additionally, Unum offers a fully embedded EOI questionnaire available to employees applying for coverage requiring EOI during enrollment. This embedded application mirrors the Employee Navigator user interface for a seamless experience for enrolling employees.

All of Unum’s EOI-applicable product lines (Life, STD/LTD, Critical Illness) are supported, and this enhanced functionality comes at no additional cost and requires no additional configuration for clients utilizing the data exchange process.

Beyond advanced solutions for EOI, Unum offers additional value to brokers via:

  • A streamlined implementation process specific to Employee Navigator
  • Unum’s Plan Build Guide, which reduces plan setup time
  • An automated plan setup solution, leveraging Employee Navigator APIs
  • A seamless data exchange process to minimize errors and enable quick resolution
  • And a continued strategy of enhancing the experience for brokers as part of Unum Broker Connect for Employee Navigator

“The new EOI integration with Unum and Employee Navigator builds on the strong partnership between our companies over the last eight years as we both continue working to build a more modern employee benefits experience,” said Employee Navigator CEO, George Reese. “Automated EOI and decision return greatly simplifies the enrollment experience for employees and in turn reduces the burden on HR departments.”

This enhanced EOI functionality and many additional benefits for Employee Navigator brokers are available now. Contact your local Unum sales office or representative, join the upcoming webinar, or visit Unum.com to learn more.
